And All Hell Broke Loose
The Loyal Cheaters
People must understand that musical labels don’t mean a thing when one musician or band is trying something. Different people can have different views and ideas, so try to get things by your ears. One fine example is what is shown on “And All Hell Broke Loose”, the new album of THE LOYAL CHEATERS. The drums were recorded at Marzi Recording Studio, while bass guitar, guitars and vocals were recorded at Slack Blue Audio, with mixing and mastering being done by the hands of Dan Dixon. The main idea was to create something organic and uncompromised, but that could be understood by the hearer, and it was reached: the album sounds as recorded rehearsal, with organic instrumental tunes, but always defined.
As guests, here are Silvio Pasqualini on strings and piano; and Lello Lellino, Danny Savanas, Lu Silver, Silvio Pasqualini, Jack Corzani, Joe Riviera, Marianna Venturi, Angie Paganelli, and Maya Cito on additional vocals. The quartet has a massive and spontaneous Hard Rock/Punk Rock outfit, or in other words, a form of Rock ‘n’ Roll that is technically simple, full of energy and hard to resist to. It sounds in a similar way to MOTÖRHEAD, GIRLSCHOOL, AC/DC, THE RUNAWAYS and others that used a visceral outfit on their music, but always with charming melodies tempering the raw energy. Yes, it’s very good.
From “Madhouse” to “Coming Back”, there are no weak points on the album, always with excellent choruses (as heard on “Madhouse”, “Can’t Go Out” and “Baby Boomer” as examples), nasty guitar riffs boosting the energy levels (pay attention to what’s delivered on the accessible “Crazee You Say”, “Baby Boomer” and “Eat the Rich”) and brutal rhythms (pay attention to “Spit On Me” and on “Hound Dog”). This album is to hear and enjoy a very good time, indeed.
“And All Hell Broke Loose” has its place on the collection of those fans that loves the mix between Rock ‘n’ Roll, Hard Rock and Punk Rock, so surrender to THE LOYAL CHEATERS attack.
