Let the hangman do the dirty work. Slide that noose around your neck. Feel the itchy fibers of the rope melding with your skin. All is ready for the let go. Punch the lever and the world as you know it will cease to exist as the pressure from the fall will crush your bones. That is a dirty work for a hangman and it raises the Blues. Now let's head to the music along with Blues. Add a little 70s Rock, crispy Hard Rock and a little edge of Punk and you will be standing there in the gallows with THE HANGMEN. Following the crude version of Rock, this band of executioners has been riding for years and this upcoming work is not their first. "East Of Western", a pretty smart and challenging title, is one of many bands crossed in Rock music along with the extra of the old West and Southern feel.

After listening to the album I must say that I was a bit surprised and perplexed. Right from the start THE HANGMEN kept on going with a decent line of Rock music consisting of vintage type grooves and Punkish octaves that sometimes reminded me a little of old British Punk music of the late 70s. The singing type of the vocal man also carried me to that assumption. That doped like voice pattern is merely Punk's trade. Mainly, the riffing was basic; the songs' structures were pretty much even without too much diversity that could have shaken things up a bit. That is probably why I couldn't go higher with this album. With its coolness and easy like nature, it came to be a bit boring. Song after song, it sounded too similar while the choruses took control of the other verses. I enjoyed some of the solos as those were generated under the bristle 70s vibe of Rock and Blues.

"Haunted", the sign of what is mellow and gloomy closed up the deal pretty good with dark yet little crunchy piece of music. Blues and Southern Rock converged under the night sky. "I'm Your Man", the call for all of you women out there to come aboard the train of fun, at least with these guys. Sharp edged Rockin' guitars like AC/DC saluted the ones that decided to come over. A truly pleasing tune. "Had A Girl", "Homesick Blues" and "Drink, Smoke" were the cool ones and a little divergent than the others but didn't show anything particularly special. Nonetheless, as a Rock fan I would still go for this one.
