Takin' Up Arms
The Gloria Story

Releasing a new 2 song single, while opening a European tour for BULLET, this quintet, THE GLORIA STORY, perform a very primal brand of 70's oriented Garage Rock - keeping things very focused on easy to ingest hooks from vocal and musical perspectives. "Takin' Up Arms" features dual Male/ Female vocals and a nice mid-tempo groove, the guitar parts intertwining in a clean meets electric manner. "Depending On You" has a very 50's-ish Bluesy feel, slightly more up-tempo but very much fun/party oriented, the piano touches giving the track a little bit more boogie.
Dare I say, the latter cut in 2 minutes and change, even gives the listener a touch of Southern Rock / LYNYRD SKYNYRD appeal, the soulful melodies weaving in and out of the main rockin' riffs. What is most enjoyable about THE GLORIA STORY is what you hear it what you'll get- no trickery, no excess, just down and dirty great times in the 70's Hard Rock mold, yet semi-Punk in attitude. Should hold people over until the band can get back into the studio for their next full-length album.<
