Powervice - Powervice - DEMO album cover

I'd bet my liver that this band was hailing from Great Britain and this CD was 25 years old! Holy shit... I never thought so many people were dedicated to the early 80's sound - me, of course, included - that need to also record their own songs under this specific formula. It seems that the seed of the British invasion is still growing/expanding on behalf of the superiority of Heavy Metal music itself.
Powervice present their 3 track same-titled demo CD, due to their performance at Athens' Up The Hammers fest (May 27, 2006). Coming from Holland, the quintet - as far as I'm concerned, offers its first musical creations in this CD. Well, just have 15,5 minutes of your life available for this piece of metallic art and then start wondering what happened to the intensity of our music in the 21st Century. Three equally excellent songs with the appropriate 80's Euro Metal/NWOBHM production need no further intros. Just imagine the 'filthy' power of Iron Maiden's first two albums (call me Paul Di'anno) while - in today's standards - Powervice are suitable for fans with the likes of e.g. Sweden's Wolf and Ram or U.S. warriors Twisted Tower Dire (not that epic, of course). I'd see some late 70's/early 80's Riot in there also, but I'm afraid to speak out loud (Speranza ruled!)
I'm really looking forward to both the band's onstage appearance at the Up The Hammers fest and some full-length work in the near future. I'm now listening to Behold The Hand Of Glory again and I can see what classic anthems like Iron Maiden's Murders In The Rue Morgue or Riot's Swords And Tequila could do to young men's hearts all these years! Thumps up for this beautiful demo CD!
