THE BRIMSTONE DAYS brings back to life sound of the 60`s and 70`s Rock. They hail from Malmö, and have a target of becoming great live act. They took influences from bands like Jimi Hendrix, FREE, and LED ZEPELIN. In 2009 their first EP "Flowers and Rainbows" was released. Their debut album "We Are The Brimstone Days" saw the light of a day in November 2010. Three years later they come with follow up "The Healer".

Although they may be one of the most unique bands found these days, their sound is nothing special. Most of the time, the songs are lacking ether in sound or lyrically (like "Clap Your Hands" - seriously?!?).

The album opens up  with "Black And Blue" which could count as a classical 70`s Hard Rock tune. Same goes for "We Come In Peace" that has few good solos woven in, but rest not so much special. Blues influence is felt almost through whole album but most in "Bag Of Bones" that is one of the track that stands out on this release, with pretty great solo. "Hold Me" is quite 60`s sounding track. "I Won`t Let You Go" is the slowest track on the album, colored with the 70`s sound. The album closes with "Stubborn" that is just another medium quality song.

Although it may seem interesting on first listening, after second one you`ll get bored by this album. "The Healer" - not healing so much. While everyone`s trying to copy the 80`s sound these days, these guys took a step way back. And that`s ok, but it lacks the innovation. You can borrow the sound, but you can also upgrade it, and modernize it, and just try to make it your own. That`s what these guys need to do. But then again, their main goal is to sound great as live band, and these songs have quite a potential for sounding better played live.

"The Healer" is the album you can easily skip, but if you have chance to hear them live, you should do it. This kind of music always sounds better live anyways.
