Plagued With Violence
Terrordome

TERRORDOME hailing from Krakov, Poland were formed in 2005. They play a mixture of Thrash Metal and Crossover. The band released one EP, three full-length albums, and a few splits so far. Their fourth album "Plagued With Violence" was produced, mixed, and mastered by Tomasz Zalewski (CRYSTAL VIPER; DECAPITATED; FRONTSIDE). It has a length of about 34 minutes, and it is an independent release. The first song of the album is "Chasing The Dragon" and the Thrash Metal mayhem starts with powerful guitar riffs at mid-tempo to introduce the main melody. The track transitions quickly into a fast one with tight guitar riffing and crushing basslines, all supported by double-bass attacks. The vocals are harsh and vary around the medium end of the vocal range. While verse and chorus parts are played fast, the break near the end of the track delivers thunderous guitar riffs at a measured tempo. "Chasing The Dragon" is a strong opening song. "Beast Sharp Razor Cut" continues with the blistering pace and it is introduced with the chorus line. It is a track of madness and insanity with flesh-ripping riffs, double-bass thunderstorms, and plenty of aggression in the vocals. The break offers a short but contributing lead guitar solo. "Beast Sharp Razor Cut" is an early album highlight.
"Goat Killers" maintains the pace and aggression of the opening tracks. The guitar riffing is tight and is accompanied by the double-bass. There is a slight tempo and rhythm change for the chorus part. The break for the lead guitar solo maintains the fast pace and intensity of the track. "The Torture Continues" starts at a measured tempo with devastating guitar riffs, set up in a grim melodic framework. The chorus parts slightly change the rhythm and the riffing is thunderous. After the first three kick-in-your-face tracks, "The Torture Continues" offers a change in sound towards dark melodies. "Bow Down To The Antichrist" starts with a guitar-driven pre-lude, leading into a frantic verse part. The guitar riffing is based on traditional Thrash Metal riffing: tight, aggressive, and brutal, all enhanced by very aggressive vocals. The break slows down the tempo for a contributing lead guitar solo. "Rzeka Krwi" is the first track in Polish and means "River Of Blood". It comes with a short cinematic intro leading into another Thrash Metal attack at crazy pace. The riffing is very direct and aggressive, while the basslines are crunching. Highlight in all that insanity is the cool lead guitar solo.
"Na Glinianych Nogach" meaning literally "On Clay Legs" seamlessly continues with the madness at blistering pace. The guitar riffing is punishing, and the drumming is relentless. There are a couple of tempo and rhythm changes, most notably during the short break. "Massive Perjury" is a one-minute inter-lude with the guitars and spoken words delivering a spine-chilling atmosphere. After this short breather, "Sorry For Being Late" continues with frantic Thrash Metal onslaught. The track is frantic with high intensity and pace. Beside the punishing guitar riffs, the track is driven by the crushing basslines, and the hammering drums, which even include a few blast-beats. "Sorry For Being Late" was released as video, and the YouTube link is provided below. The title track offers a change in sound. It is a mid-tempo track with thunderous guitar riffing. The chorus parts have backing vocal support for the anthemic chorus line. The break is a bit more playful with the riffing and drumming. The lead guitar solo is more technical compared to all others and it is by far the longest one.
The album finishes with "Satanic Decree" and this is a final Thrash attack at insane pace, aggression, and intensity. The guitar riffing is tight, there are strong basslines, and the melodies are bone-chilling. It is a good way to end the album. TERRORDOME deliver Thrash Metal at high quality. "Plagued With Violence" is utter madness, fast as hell, aggressive, and intense. The guitar riffing is often classical Thrash Metal riffing, the basslines are crushing, and the drumming is relentless. On top of all this are aggressive vocals, which keep the whole sound well together. The album is well produced. The fourth album of TERRORDOME is arguably their best release so far, and one of the best Thrash Metal albums I listened to in recent times.
