Naked Soul
T3nors

This is quite the adventure. After the three tenors in classical music, and the 3 TREMORS in Power Metal, now we have the T3NORS of AOR to contend with. Even though I had no knowledge at all about the three singers, as this release has been provided to us by the mighty Frontiers Music SRL and saw the light of day on February 10th 2023, I have to say that I was very much looking forward to listening to "Naked Soul".
First off let's get to know the singers. Robbie LaBlanc and Toby Hitchcock are from the USA. The first you night know through BLANC FACES, FIND ME, a project with THE MURDER OF MY SWEET drummer/producer Daniel Flores and EAST TEMPLE AVENUE, amongst others. The latter has released some solo stuff, plus has worked with JIM PETERIK. Singer Kent Hilli is of Swedish descent. He is the newest of the three singers on the scene, but has quickly made an impact with the albums he has released with his main band PERFECT PLAN, as well as being the new frontman for GIANT, solo material, and guest appearances with RESTLESS SPIRITS, the melodic rock project from LORDS OF BLACK guitarist Tony Hernando, as stated in the bio on the record company's website.
As you might have guessed the music is all penned and thought out by multi talent Alessandro Del Vecchio and you can only agree that he does know what is fitting for these kind of singers. And they do sing to their heart's content, giving the typical AOR music the feel you would expect from such a collaboration. The digital version I am currently listening to has three extra songs, which are only different because of changing the main lead singer.
To me the crux is that they sound too similar too each other. Yes, there are differences too, but as I did not receive any info on who is singing what, I wouldn't be able to tell you the finer details. Plus, I feel that the music this all too much alike. The only differences are that it sometimes is a bit faster, maybe even heavier than at other times. But nowhere do I get the feeling that I am listening to an exceptional album. "Naked Soul" never excites me, never has my hair standing on end, never gets me to say "Wow!". And therein the crux; T3NORS is pretty good, but nothing more than that. And to be quite honest, that just doesn't cut it any more for me. Sorry.
