Syryn - Heads Or Tails album cover

Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: SYRYN; independently unsigned, hailing from Canadian grounds - performing Power/Thrash/Heavy Metal, on their sophomore full-length studio album entitled: "Heads Or Tails" (released August 26th, 2022). Since formation in 2017; the quintet in question have 2 full-length studio albums in their discography so far entitled: "Beyond The Depths" (released January 3rd, 2020), and this here second album in their discography so far entitled: "Heads Or Tails'". 8 tracks ranging around 41:04; SYRYN arranges an intricately designed formula on some heavy-hitting Power/Thrash/Heavy Metal amalgamations.

Opening up with this rompy yet majestic hymn; "Surrender" amplifies with some rhythmic strums and harmonic but anthemic cords, until this rampant melody thuds out sturdy yet riveting volatility. Belting a clobbering foundation in blistering trembles that rumble with reverberating meatiness, while stampeding with punchy tightness & weighty solidity. Sloan Voxx on the vocals consists in an intriguing choir in hefty barrage frenzies in boisterously bouncy hooks, while soaring with throaty singing momentum that manifests with roaring yells amongst a high-pitched synergy. Forging a quintessential virtuosity; twinning maelstrom mobility from duo guitarists Paulo Rage & Byron Gorieu chug out some monstrously shredding rips that ramify with a bulldozing impact while Sloan chimes a synthetic symphony within her clean but ethereal elegance that's most sublime within the monolithic tempo of zealous tremors, flamboyantly engaging in a buoyant exuberance that's really catchy and dexterously dynamic for good distinction - especially in "'Til We Drown".

An empowering but clamoring strife stridently manifests with this organically profuse substance on wildly rushing remedy; distilling a dense fabrication in flexibly fundamental haste and concretely gritty gallops, frolicking with pandemonic rift while fierce firepower expertise execute a crunchy chop in high-octane relentlessness that's most stompy whilst razing. Some salubrious yet rambunctiously piledriving grinds hammer into a battering stomp within Bryan Campbell's slamming kicks of robust yet pulverising smacks that will make you want to air drum very similarly, sulphurous yet thumpy - an audible bass injections infects eardrums with primitively raw flickers from Lyxx Rose. As a driving force in impulsing euphony revels with this sonically seamless spectrum on raging rampage which thunders with rapidly swift nimbleness & striking pursuits of uniquely versatile vehemence within "Walk The Plank"/"Sink Or Swim".

This transgressional transition merges Thrash smears within the radically wicked maelstrom heaviness and furocity of Power Metal majesty, which has a very notable attribute in the operatic singing stability. "Madness Becomes Me" keeps these immersively intense details in check, intertwining a chorale induced flair while the songwriting musicianship mellifluously tramples speakers with persistently moving perseverance that will make you want to break chairs over other chairs in no time - or marvel through the sheer strength of their smashing meltdowns within some gnarly distortions that quake with vivacious loftiness to boot. "Fist Full Of Daggers" has some mad drum cymbal taps that unravel with very speedy but arbitrary contortion; firing all cylinders, an extreme pedal rams the set with steely precision & wrathful aggression. Berserking eardrums with vibrantly potent artillery, everyone demolishes the production with thrashing systematics that overarch with those eurythmic instrumental craftsmanship abilities to surge with a heady but hybrid experimental contrast in all things structured with the subgenres in place.

The penultimate rocker of the titular track "Heads Or Tails" showcases this with thrilling but enthralling energy; still juxtaposing those spellbinding calamities in gripping but rigorous vigour of rollicking yet savvy skill, SYRYN jumps virulently but fueled with pulsating agility in which supplies a deadly finesse while offering pounding synergy for good sport. Up tempo clarity best describes this record; which overall concludes it with the epic but banging finale of the "Succubus Queen", who hypnotically continues absorbing your soul with neck-breaking but magnificent triggers that will stimulate your bone-breaking body with upbeat musical greatness and exquisite bashfulness. Bottom line; I am compelled to say that SYRYN most surely outdone themselves with this one, it's an enjoyably entertaining record that made me want to replay this one a good few times. Worthy of spinning should you fancy a fused culmination of Power/Thrash/Heavy intriguing that will solidify your day excitingly into a thrusting yet motoring caliber; do check it out, this record is a discovery that's one to keep note of.
