SWITCHBLADE ROMANCE are a Heavy Rock Band from München, Germany who have released the new album "Old Gods Return." The new album feature 11 tracks and is a fine album to behold. The 4 piece band released the new album on December 9th 2019. They are a band who have come together to produce a great album in "Old Gods Return." The album is a good one to listen to and is a hair swinging album if ever there was one. The bands 4 members each show their roles in the band well, bringing together a sweet sounding album with some really good songs to play on the your stereo. It's a Heavy Rock album that you could play on repeat. Guitarist Wolfgang Kromer started making music back in 1988. He played with various cover bands before joining SWITCHBLADE ROMANCE. Bassist Daniel Fehr says his role models include Duff McKagan & Nikki Sixx. Lukas Lobnig has passed all drummer tests up to M1 (professional level). Uwe Koehler has been in the music business for some time now releasing his first album at the age of 19. So that's a little about the band now for a little about the album.
The album opens with the song "We Are One" which is a song that sounds like classic Heavy Rock giving us a flavour of the bands sound and a taste of what's to come in the rest of the album. The vocals are top notch and the guitar riffs are wicked, not to mention the drums bringing the beat home. "From Down Under To The Top" is song number 3 and opens with some fine guitar playing and drumming to give way to the vocals of Uwe Koehler. It's a song you get rocking to as the beat is easy to listen to & quite catchy. The vocals are crystal clear and the music is on point. Song number 6 is called "The Best Next To You" and is a song which lasts 3 minutes 52 seconds. It brings to life a beat that flows effortlessly. One of those songs that make you want to learn the words to sing along to. One more song to listen out for is "Way Down Inside." It opens rather softly and has a slow paced tempo. It's an easy listening track which gets a little heavier as it gets into the song. I'd point this song out to be one of the highlights of the album.
In my opinion, this album has been well written & produced. It has a good sound to it and is an album that sounds like classic Heavy Rock. The vocals on the album are clear and easy to understand, making learning the lyrics to the songs easy. "Old Gods Return" is a well written album and has been performed well by the relatively new band. If they continue to produce music like this, then I think we will see a lot of them in the future. SWITCHBLADE ROMANCE have put together a fine album and it's one I've enjoyed reviewing. I have no complaints about the album either in musicianship or performance. It's an album that I don't doubt will become quite popular with time & exposure.
