From their EPK, "following their latest album "Into The Depths," May 27th will see the release of "...Of Light," the third full length record by Berlin, Germany -based Black Metal act STIRIAH. Featuring six brand new tracks spanning over 45 minutes, with "...Of Light" the band delivers a furious and ferocious, yet emotional journey through the spheres of Black Metal. STIRIAH's brand new album is a dark and mournful, harsh and desolate ride from start to finish, which thematically narrates the tightrope between origin and extinction of existence.

"The Emergence of Being" leads off the album. It opens with the cold howl of winds before the main riff comes in, with a marching quality in the drums and bass. The vocals are shrieks of Black Metal pain. As it moves forward, the desolate sound become more pronounced. "Drifting in the Sea of Flames" opens with that fully depressing sound right in your face. The guitars are thick and the drumming intense, leaving no room for hope. "Companion of Light" opens with a slower riff that gives way to more intense feelings of worthlessness. Bitter, agonizing tones run like a strong thread throughout the song. Towards the end, it takes a brief pause, gathering strength for the final push.

"Threatening Shadows" features a more traditional Black Metal sound...vocal shrieks, a wall of guitars, thunderous drumming, and desperate leanings. Thick bass notes thud away in this harrowing song. "Lonely the Moon is Enthroned" is an entrancing song with mesmerizing elements...one that pull the listener into the cold and empty world that is "...Of Light." Some clean vocals mix in, furthering the desolate sound. As it moves forward, more layers are added in this dark and unforgiving ride. "My Burden the Last Crown" closes the album. Choking, meaty bass notes hold down the bottom end of the song as the frightening elements are heightened. They beg, you will surely meet your doom.

This album would put a damper on any sunny day, swooping in like thunderclouds across the park, dousing any chance for some fun, and continuing the downpour for days. Although some of the songs sound similar to one another, there is enough harrowing and desolate elements to carry you to the end of your days. The band's musicianship is also strong, something not often heard in the genre. Saddle up for one of the darkest rides as your worst fears come to life in front of you.
