Station Eleven - Visions From A Tainted Mind album cover

Diversity, that's what it's all about. Today's bands are on a quest to mix as many music elements as possible. That's what STATION ELEVEN do in Visions From A Tainted Mind. A band that gathers every part of their influences and creates a brand new and fresh CD...
STATION ELEVEN are a Greek act, originating from Salamina. Their relatively young age doesn't seem to bother them at all. They were formed in the fall of 2002. Some line up changes have taken place, but I don't find it much important so as to mention them. Anyway, this promo CD isn't for sale and as far as I know, hasn't been sent to labels as it is. It contains Promo 2003 and Visions From A Tainted Mind (2005) releases.
This band used to play a mixture of Progressive Power/Death Metal with many elements from the American Thrash Metal scene. After STATION ELEVEN changed their music to something more modern, they kept many of their old elements and turned into a more Nu Metal/Hardcore outfit. They are one of the greatest bands I have ever heard coming out of the Greek scene. Panos is a true beast behind the microphone! He is one of the two singers here in Greece that I really admire regarding their vocal skills (the other one is singing for TARDIVE DYSKINESIA). The riffing is very catchy and the rhythm section really helps with this! This band's influences range from the Nu Metal/Hardcore scene (MNEMIC, DROWNING POOL, BIOHAZARD) to the American Thrash Metal scene (PANTERA, METALLICA). The only thing that gets pretty tiring during the whole CD is the sound coming out of the drum kit. They sound a bit fake and plastic.
Anyway, if STATION ELEVEN keep up with this pace and receive a good promotion, they will definitely evolve into something really good! The only thing I have to say is that you HAVE to check these guys out!
