SPLINTERED THRONE has just released their latest, "The Greater Good Of Man." Nine hard tracks complete this one. Supporting bands such as FLOTSAM & JETSOM, ARMORED SAINT and LITA FORD, this high energy band has an almost bluesy influence on its Heavy Metal roots, all brilliantly lead by front woman, Lisa Mann.

From Portland, Oregon, the progressive but melodic Hard Rock band are also very traditional with hints of maybe SAXON or IRON MAIDEN, but refreshing on it own. Dual guitar work leads the way after a recent change at the mic. The band is now a female fronted act for the first time. From driving drum and bass grooving you along to slower ballads, the band is a group of true professionals showcasing their hearts on this one.

"The Reaper is Calling," straight out of the gate. No waiting, we are getting right down to serious business with this one. It is a great start, both lyrically and musically. I can already tell that there are going to be multiple gems in the next eight songs. This first one was complete.

Next, the guitar work is being showcased throughout, both lead and rhythm. Everyone else is backing them up nicely as well. There is a lot going on in this one and I don't have any complaints about anything I hear. It starts out a little harder when we slide in to number three, only to be tricked in to a ballad transition. A lot of these songs are around five minutes, they have a lot of space to move around in. It is almost like a Metal jam band at points.

The title track picks the speed back up. Lyrical storytelling seems to be a strong point so far on this album. Chugging along, everyone is staying in the pocket nicely so far. This would be a great live band on a big stage, I would gladly give them my money.

"Night Of The Heathens," could be straight out of Bruce Dickinson's song book with its story and feel, it may be my favorite. I recommend you take in the whole album. Sit back, chill and enjoy it, but check it all out at once. It is a journey. I don't think that I could pick just one favorite, even the last song, "Immortal," takes you along on its own.
If only this Metal life would last forever...
