SKINTRADE was formed in Stockholm by talented vocalist Matti Alfonzetti (ex BOXER), they quickly signed with the legendary Polar label, the group's self-titled debut was released in 1993 and it received an overwhelming positive response .

Matti Alfonzetti, was and still is a very active character in the Swedish Metal Scene, since the mid 80's he had sung in countless bands, he's related with almost every talented musician in the mighty Swedish territory, from BAM BAM BOYS to the early stages of the amazing TALISMAN to his solo band or the recent triumphal stint with guitar legend Tommy Denander in the band IMPERA. He was also very successful with his international projects such as JAGGED EDGE or RED WHITE AND BLUE.

But the ambitious creation with his buddy guitarist George Bravo (ex ERRATIC TALE) of a new sonic experience under the SKINTRADE moniker will always considered as his most unexpected and biggest achievement!

This initiative was set in a more Heavy sensation than before, and it received high praise by both the audience and the medias...Their singles "Sick As A Dog"/"One By One"/"Snap Goes Your Mind" and "Flies" were played regularly on MTV...The band was armed and ready to negotiated perfectly the Grunge turmoil era and unsurprisingly their second album "Roach Powder", was in concordance with its period, even darker and it reveal beside their early mix of Heaviness and Melody, some unusual twisted harmonies and a few modern updates, this album was released with once again a wave of consensus...Nonetheless, SKINTRADE disbanded in 1995...Their recent comeback album "Refueled" was published last year !

The idea for the SKINTRADE's return occurred in May 2011, but this time, with a quartet formula, and to celebrate it they published their best-of album "Past and Present" which included three new songs, and quickly it was followed by their third studio album rightly called "Refueled"...The sound of the band has matured and expanded, still fierce and intense but much more set in a positive display and it packs ten stunningly powerful songs with a great potential in headbangin' unanimity...Their new album, ¨Scarred For Life", will be released via AOR Heaven on July 24th, 2015.

Once again the album was recorded and mixed by Oscar Ammer, but this time SKINTRADE also worked with producer Geo Slam on the song "Wide Awake" originally recorded by Katy Perry and written by Max Martin...Not my favorite cut though! SKINTRADE is set itself again, in an advantageous position, ahead in the new revitalized  Modern Melodic Metal revival scene from Scandinavia.

Indeed, the new full length "Scarred For Life" is in perfect coherency with the historic elements of their signature sound, with maybe some slightly updates, notably in the melodic focus (the commercial "Lay With Me") and a brand new groovy factor, still giving a large portion of their range to the sharp guitar riffs, in alternation they successfully provides Heavy and softer pace, another recommended album for the Modern Melodic Hard Rock addicts on planet Earth!
