Musical projects arose in Metal as a form of some musicians manifest their ideas that don't fit in their bands. So, they gather with another musicians and the magic can appear (or not, because some flaws appeared through time), and SINISTRAL KING is a musical and international project, a trio that is coming out of darkness with "Serpent Uncoiling", their first release.

Here, there are members of UNLIGHT (Germany), TRIUMPH OF DEATH (Switzerland) and VREDEHAMMER (Norway). Their goal is to create a brutal and darkened form of Black/Death Metal totally out of modern paradigms (besides it keeps the same musical impact), with some nasty melodies hidden under the aggressive musical mass that is created by them. Contrasts of brutal guttural grunts and sharp shrieks turn things even more tasteful for the listeners, along with nasty keyboards and pianos introspective parts, the massive aggressiveness and energy that flow from the songs. The sonority of "Serpent Uncoiling" was built to be oppressive and nasty, bearing the crude insight of the 90's, but keeping the clear idea that the ones who hear the album must understand what they want to express with their music. So it is aggressive and raw, but in a way that everyone can understand.

It's obvious that their musical expression can't be understood by many due the long time lengths used by them (the shorter one lasts almost six minutes), but for those who wants a different experience, it's impossible to resist to "Serpent Uncoiling" (a massive and nasty song without extreme tempos, and with a funereal ambiance and great chorus, as 'assassin, assassin, come forth' will be hammering your mind for hours), "Nahemoth" (its darkened and catchy charm will hypnotize then listener, and what a good work from bass guitar and drums), and "Fields of Necromance" (the contrast between fast and sharp guitar riffs with some introspective melodic parts is amazing). In reality, it's impossible to resist to all their five songs.

Maybe "Serpent Uncoiling" can sound fresh and easy to be assimilated by many fans, but SINISTRAL KING is here to stay, and their music really is amazing.
