Silent Force - Worlds Apart album cover

Worlds Apart is the third recording of this German/American Metal act, surrounding guitarist Alex Beyrodt (ex-Primal Fear) and vocalist DC Cooper (ex-Royal Hunt) and - a point that should be mentioned right away - it's their most impressive to date. All twelve tracks are absolute highlights by themselves, full of addictive melodies, haunting guitar riffs, virtuoso solos and rhythmic refinements.
The emphasis on Worlds Apart lies on dynamism and melodies, it's powerful and at the same time transparent sound created by producer/sound mixer Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69) underlines the brilliant overall impression. To cut a long story short: Silent Force's Worlds Apart - this band sounds better today than ever before!
Although this album does mainly focus on the vocals of DC Cooper (yeah, again), that's not a bad thing at all. He has many different singing styles and an excellent vocal range (all hail Royal Hunt). Silent Force has some rather talented musicians. The first few tracks of the album resemble to something that would be on Priest's Painkiller album, while the others get back to more of a power and progressive Metal style.
The band rocks inexorably, never ignoring their feel for big melodies or a catchy chorus. We take great care to gear the tracks to DC's vocals, and we try to create the best possible melodies, that's why we've written the numbers in keys that make his voice come out best. I think we've been 100% successful, says exceptional guitarist Alex Beyrodt. Cooper and Beyrodt continue to be supported by drummer Andre Hilgers, keyboarder Torsten Rohre and bassist Jurgen Steinmetz - a tried and tested team where each member knows the others' strengths.
Take a number like Heroes with its refined six-eight time and lyrics about the firemen who risked their lives in New York on 9/11, containing all the typical Silent Force trademarks; or the melodic No One Lives Forever, featuring as much hit potential as "Once Again, a likely candidate for the first single-release from Worlds Apart, if that was to be done in the world of Metal recordings. Then there are epic tracks like Master Of My Destiny or the haunting ballad Spread Your Wings with an intro featuring DC Cooper's newborn son.
The long and intense preparation phase for Worlds Apart(3 whole years) has paid off. Twelve new songs round off an album that signals a further development of the typical Silent Force trademarks, particularly in view of the impressive cover artwork courtesy of Herve Monjeaud. No doubt about it: this band rocks!
