SIEGE COLUMN formed in New Jersey under a dark veil of mystery. Their first album "Inferno Deathpassion" stormed the internet in 2018, but a few demos can be found as early as 2016. Notoriously known for their evil combat lyrical theme, and the darkest death metal sounds that Jersey has to offer. This duo of death are on an all out massacre from the depths of hell to your ears with piercing solos, vicious lyrics, bringing back that old school death metal we all grew up with. Recorded in a small corner in hell this album is full of tracks guaranteed to suck you down with them!

The first track "Devils Nights In Hell" starts us off with an eerie whammy effect, and a sinister  pulse leading into a calming keyboard part before a heavy riff and solo bring us into the first cryptic verse. I thought the intro backed with the squeals, and combination of heavy chords with going into the solo were an awesome arrangement as well as the following chords going into the meat of the song as the lyrics tear your eardrums into tiny shreds. Nicely done! The next track "Echoes of the Underworld" starts us off with heavy power chords, and pounding percussion before a furious solo just a moment before throwing you into the first verse as the tempo picks up into a hell raising speed as the duo each take turns singing the chorus, and solos. A showcase of talents as each swing at you with a machete of talent and vocal chords gargled with venom and fire.

As a Jersey boy myself born and raised I have to highlight "In a Stolen Tomb". Playing in a few garage bands back then, the riffs in this song take me back to those times in the late 80s early 90s. Metal was blowing up from the big 4, we were moving into uncharted waters with metal. Many different styles were forming from their influence and this song just brings me back to that east coast. A just in your face throw down of fast heavy chords, and vicious from the gut vocals into a heavily palm muted chug before a fury of fast chords, a solo, and just all out assault at the end. I haven't missed Jersey much, but now I do! The title track "Darkside Legions" is just another fast, and violent song from the start to finish. From the moment it starts it is just in an intense intro with another solo. My only wish is the mic was turned up more for the vocals. The instruments overwhelm some most of the verse's, but the instrumentals are definitely worth it. Just a pounding from the drums, eerie solos, and vicious chords. Good stuff.

The final song I want to talk about is "Buried in Lava". I really liked this song the most. Again, my only wish is the vocals were turned up a little more, but the riffs were badass! A change of pace with the rest of the album, but in my opinion, the best song! I really dug the not so intense fury of power chords, but a more clearly played groove riff during the verses into the assault in the chorus, and back to the groove riff. A definite change in pace, but a much better. Overall I did enjoy the instrumentals. The quality of the recording did sound like it was in the corner of hell. If it had been produced a little better to bring out the vocals, this could be an amazing album, but it literally sounds like it was produced in a basement. These guys are definitely very skilled musicians, and songwriters, just need the financial backing to really shine.
