SICK N' BEAUTIFUL is the ultimate rock n' roll sideshow from outer space! A unique concoction of hard rock and modern metal infused with industrial, punk, and electro-pop overtones, blending in varying parts of influences from ROB ZOMBIE, LADY GAGA, KISS, RAMMSTEIN, KATY PERRY, ALICE COOPER, NO DOUBT and NINE INCH NAILS. Intrigued yet? I know I am, so I went to the bands press release to help me out in explaining this obscure concept.
The band puts together a fission-bomb of a show out of their self-produced albums "Hell Over Hell' (2015) and "Elements of Sex" (2018). Extreme visuals, make-up, and costumes, along with the sexy bombshell singer Greta Di Iacovo (aka Herma) keep the audience involved and nailed to the stage, and in their own words, "We are intergalactic nomads, performing our numbers for the enjoyment of all species we meet in our travels. Sometimes we resort to questionable means to make ends meet". Formed in 2013 from Rome, Italy, this space-age quintet just released their third and latest musical adventure "Starstruck" in 2022.

We open with "Tonight We Go to War", as expected, a space age groove with strings and keys blast off to giant hooks and heavy riffs with "Barbie" style vocals by Herma, adding in a gripping guitar solo. The vocals get much heavier and angry on the title track "Starstruck", a mixed-up tempo with pulsating and pounding riffs and drums. With slick and varying vocals on "Defy the Light", bringing in a "pop" sound and melody, this song showcases the bands versatility. "Deep End Dark" has a melodic, somber, start with percussion and a thumping drum beat but reverses to heavy, whipping riffs and solo that slam. A perplexing, interesting song "Pull of Gravity" has a little bit of everything with screaming growls and interchanging melodies and chorus, mixed with a nice dark and eerie guitar solo.
I think spellcheck blew a gasket on this one, "Ytopynonavevanonypoty" ends the album with a heavy, thrash, primitive industrial sound.

WHEW, what a journey, I wasn't sure if they were gonna be "all show, and no go" but SICK N' BEAUTIFUL is a tumultuous, dazzling, and imaginary musical experience. It's like watching a bartender mix a varied combination of alcohols into one exotic and delicious drink.
Their collision of thrash, pop, alternative and metal work in a way I would not have guessed.
 Greta Di Iacovo (Herma) boasts eccentric and intoxicating vocals, paired with head freezing and blistering riffs and bombastic drum and keys to complete a thrill ride of an album.
After watching the bands video's, I am making them a "must see' when they play in my city, once they return to earth.
