Sedate Illusion - Time is Not the End album cover

Regarding the new album, it's really two separate albums, because each has their own artwork. From their description, "the first EP "Time is Not the End" feels more "Progressive" style with more upbeat and easy listening songs." This album contains four songs, and "What if" is the first. Bass guitar thumps away while a choppy riff rattles underneath. The vocals are pretty smooth, and melancholy, and you can hear some light Progressive undertones, but I would not call this music very upbeat. Instead of a guitar solo, there is a keyboard solo,

"Does it Matter" is a little more upbeat, but the mid-tempo sound slows down its impact a little. Melody flows in the chorus, and the connections are more linear, with harmonized vocals. The guitar solo is also pretty well done. "Time is Not the End" is a longer song, with lamenting tones as the title suggests. The upbeat tones come in with the chorus, although the verses are still pretty melancholy. Dreamy tones come into play following the second chorus, and I am able to make harmony with the music. "Stars" closes the album. It's a bit of a sad tale, as the vocalist talks about seeing the stars alone. The light drumming is complimented by some nice bass work and vocal harmonies.

Overall, this was a pretty decent album. Though only four tracks long, and at times a bit to slow moving, the harmonies and bass work might have been the best part of the album. As musicians they are pretty solid as well. In the end however, I am sorry to say that it really failed to make an impact on me.
