Since women came to the Metal/Rock scene to play and sing music, the reactions were mixed...from praising their musical talent to those genre prejudice words from some macho men (as they could be called mainly). This writer loves the talent and vibration that girls gave to music, because a good work isn't a matter of if you're a man or a woman, but of talent. Let me tell you: ROBIN RECK shows a great talent on "Love is Coming".

We can describe Robin's musical work as a modern form of Melodic Rock with some 80's Pop influences, created to be accessible, and bearing excellent choruses. The instrumental parts are very good, played with enough technique to give the right support to the vocals. Although we have heard this same type of music done several times in the past, it's good to hear it once more with such musical talent. The production was done by Clif Magness and James Christian, with Cliff doing the mixing as well, and Maor Appelbaum. The sound flows crystalline and clear, in a way that the songs' melodies can be heard and understood. But when the songs must bear some aggressiveness, it has as well.

The entire album sounds good and melodic, but for those who needs a referential frame, the Pop Rock song "Island" with its fine arrangements, the strong introspection and beauty of "In These Eyes" (an extremely accessible song with fine piano arrangements), the Rock'n'Roll Groove scent that comes from "Love is Coming" (that has a fine guitar solo played by Tommy Denander) and "Me Just Being Me", the modern feeling of "Crave the Touch" (that shows a good guitar solo played bt John Huldt, and the keyboards and percussion were played by James Christian), the beautiful arrangements of the Pop Rock with some 70s elements heard on "If You Only Knew", and the modern Glam/AOR melodies of "Girl Like Me" can be said as the album's finest moments. I didn't speak about Robin's musical talent because it is extremely evident.

"Love is Coming" is a fine work, indeed.
