REDSTACKS are a brand spankin' new Hard Rock and Heavy Metal band who has a mission to inform others about the everlasting life of Rock N' Roll. In their eyes (and ears), Rock ain't dead, in fact it never was. The band was founded and pieced together by keyboardist Jeffrey Revet, who obviously has a burning passion to make music and be in a band. When you listen to him play keyboards on this album you can tell that he was greatly influenced by the one and only Jon Lord of DEEP PURPLE. You'll discover many of the main influencers for the band members on this album just by hearing their styles and every note that they hit.

I've cranked this album multiple times, and I'll tell you now that the second track "Oceans" is a jaw-droppingly mind-blowing song that I consider almost perfect. At times, lead vocalist Jan Willem Ketelaers sounds SUPER similar to Tony Martin who used to sing in BLACK SABBATH. I'm a huge fan of the underrated era for BLACK SABBATH, so this was a real treat to hear. In fact, there are other times on the album where he continues to shine light to Tony Martin (and that's a great thing!). The melody and icy passion is all here in this song! The brilliant lyrics "Babe I want to live, want to live in paradise. Babe, I want to give, want to give you all of my life" have been roaming inside my mind for a long while now, and I couldn't be happier. This track alone has so much replay value for the listener, and I strongly suggest that you check this song out for an excellent taste of this album.

Kicking off with a sharp-edged riff, "Jealously" gives permission for the rocker to tap his foot and bang his head. Once again, lead vocalist Jan Willem Ketelaers continues to showcase his influences. On this song especially, he sounds super similar to Geoff Tate (formally of QUEENSRYCHE). There aren't that many bands these days who aren't too shy to let their influencers beam from the sound of he music. This tune has got some solid drumming from Tim Beudel, who can lay down a simple, steady, and solid beat.

Finally, I want to discuss "Dreamworld Junkie". It's another song on here that is just good fun! Rock N' Roll doesn't always have to be technically proficient. This album has a lot to offer the listener. Rock was never dead.

REDSTACKS have accomplished plenty with their very first studio release! I look forward to seeing how the rest of their studio discography evolves, and where they'll go next musically. "Revival of the Fittest" is a fun and solid album, that doesn't mess around!
