Guess who's back? The same sentence is what is written on the back of this promo CD. The fact is that this is one of the few times I am happy that I hold a Lifeforce Records release in my hands. And I still haven't understood why one of the biggest (if not the biggest) labels in the Metal scene let this band leave and they signed with Lifeforce. That's matter of the band, but I don't think that this was the best move.

The band already counts over a decade of playing Metal and they have released some more than just nice albums throughout their career. The fact that they were a part of Nuclear Blast Records and had released some really good albums there is definitely something that shows the band's quality. This is RAUNCHY's second album through Lifeforce and I just hope they didn't end up sounding like the rest of the label's bands.

I have said it many times in the past, but I will say it again. What the fuck is wrong with Denmark? Is there something in the water they drink? How the fuck can they produce such good 'modern' Metal bands? The last years many bands like RAUNCHY, MNEMIC, VOLBEAT and HATESPHERE (to name a few) have managed to produce some nice music and enter the premier league of the Metal scene.

Blending modern Nu influences with their Industrial background, the Danish metallers have managed to craft an album full of catchy rhythms and modern brutality that is - thank god - above the rest of the average Metalcore scene. Even though I am not the biggest fan of the specific kind of sound, RAUNCHY's Wasteland Discotheque managed to make me spend approximately 54 minutes without getting bored even for a second. I believe that their nice melodies wouldn't sound that good if it wasn't for Mr. Jacob Hansen who took care of the album's production and he is a genius when it comes to this style of music.

The album also features a really nice cover of ROCKWELL's Somebody's Watching Me where the band shows its secret love towards to more popular side of music. So, if you are looking for a modern and catchy Metal album, then this one is for you. I have listened to it many times until now, and I will probably be listening to it for some more time.
