Doomed To Destroy, Destined To Die
Ramming Speed

Coming straight from the city of Boston in the United States, RAMMING SPEED is quite a new discovery for me. These Americans have put Thrash Metal, Punk Hardcore, the NWOBHM and Death Metal in a single bowl and they mixed it all for a super-fast sound full of energy and brutality. I speak of their second album "Doomed To Destroy, Destined To Die" released under the label Prosthetic Records. Thirteen songs in this new album, that in my bill is destined to those who like big Harley Davidsons and American Muscle Cars.
Nowadays, it is relatively difficult to produce a good album in a style that revolves around Thrash Metal. But RAMMING SPEED have managed to snatch my attention right from the first listening session. I always want to re-listen to this album again. The use of several typical elements of extreme Metal such as different types of blast beats and super-fast tempos has had the secret of all this energy, which always made me Headbanging. Kallen Bliss and Blake Chuffskin the tow guitarists, never hesitated to introduce melodies in their songs from the first few minutes, as on the opening "Doomed To Destroy, Destined To Die" or the great "Hollow Giants" which stands out with a mid-tempo, synonym of glory and splendid.
The cohesion between the songs on this album seems perfect. In fact, you always want to listen to the next track, always want to taste a dose of anger and intensity, as on "Grinding Dissent" or "Ministry Of Truth". "Extension Event" is another song that put me in MOTORHEAD mood as also "Dead Flags" with the voice of Peter Gallagher which never seems to be tired of expressing his anger.
Old, traditional Thrash Metal fans will surely find themselves in this new opus of "Ramming Speed", as also all the fans of the good energy of Hardcore Punk. But beware, an album not to listen to if you drive a car.
