Well, what can I say about this band and I couldn't be more excited about these trio of musicians from Bristol in the UK. Not only are these guys in the category of the nu-metal genre but the singer MIKE EVANS is heavily influenced by two of the biggest nu-metal bands, LINKIN PARK and LIMP BIZKIT. I actually grew up listening to nu-metal bands including the two big ones that have inspired this band. I do admire and salute these musicians as they perhaps keep the nu-metal sound going as it has gone underground. It should be mentioned that they also have been backed up by another Bristol act called PHOXJAW who share the same vision as PROFILER.

The singer MIKE EVANS himself said that 'music sucked me in from the first time I heard LINKIN PARK'S HYBRID THEORY album-honestly, since then, Nu-metal is all I have wanted to do'. The other two members of this band are JOE JOHNSON and bassist OSCAR HOCKING on drums. This nu-metal trio of headbangers have released three singles "Identify", "Metamorphosis" and "Revert". Now with one single release titled "Ninety Three". Now with one single newly released in 2022, they are here with their self titled EP PROFILER. We begin with "We Are Extinction" as a rising crescendo of heavy guitar riffs and drums build up as we hear electronic scratches. Then drums bring all other instruments into the light as all instruments are blazing in all of its glory.

Into "Miserable" as drums project as well as vocals eventually link up all instruments but vocals sound like they were influenced by metalcore. Vocals also have the contrast between screamer and clean vocal lines. Guitar even has a brief moment to itself as the track is led by vocals or drums mostly. Drums certainly are well articulated as vocals and guitar are devastating. Now into "Glitch Theory" as guitar strums the vocals or drums ignite the nu-metal sound of the band as a whole. The difference between the quieter sections and heavy metalcore/nu-metal exploding from the guitar or drums. This is a short enough 3 minute track as we go right into the fourth track "Alpha Nine" as a subtle guitar and vocal line build up. Vocals are echoed and they settle for the first minute or so then a slight pause.

Drums come back dropping the big fat metalcore beats as guitar focuses on the gritty sound. "Hypocrite" plays on the maddening guitar and drum patterns that merely goes well with roaring vocal lines. There is perhaps more progressive metal in this track but the drums are borderline between prog metal and some nu-metal vibe. This is the last track on this remarkable EP and overall I have to conclude that this band should not be underestimated. Their sound is so majestic, eye-opening, staggering and spectacular. There is so much to take as a positive as the nu-metal influence goes well with heavy metalcore bass/electric guitar.
