"Raising the Roof"  marks a powerful new chapter for Peter Carlsohn's The Rise .A true veteran of the scene, Carlsohn brings more than five decades of experience to the project. He has been the bassist for legendary Christian rock band Jerusalem since 1980, a member of XT since 2017 alongside Björn Stigsson, Sonny Larsson, Dan Tibell, and Thomas Weinesjö, and has toured extensively across Asia and Africa with Rune Edvardsen & Red Band since 2008. Anchored by Carlsohn's unmistakable bass playing and emotive lead vocals, the record blends classic rock roots with a modern edge. The album was recorded by Jack L. Stroem at JLS Studio Ent. in Floda, Sweden, mixed by Tobias Lindell, and mastered by Thomas "Plec" Johansson.

The opening track "It's Your Time Now" has a classic rock and blues feel thanks to the melody and the groove feel, along with the harmonious chorus and hammond organ touches throughout the track."Glorious Life" is next up which is a middle of the road rocker ,which has some classic guitar tones, which reminds me a bit of The Shadows to some extent."Fight The Fear" has some great guitar work, this track is more of hard rocker with some blues moments thrown into the mix."Raising The Roof" is a track where the rhythm is the forefront of the track with a deep bass tone, complete with a steady drum patterns with the guitar runs drifting in and out of the track."Angel Eyes" is another middle of the road easy listening rock track which is breezy & dreamy. "Living My Life" is another breezy, dreamy number which has lyrics with a positive message,"Wild Thing" has a more upbeat tempo, with more of those classic guitar tones.

A bold bluesy groove & riffing opens "Red Alert" the verses and bridge are solid but the chorus for me is a bit lacklustre and weak &lacking energy."Surrender" is a chilled affair which is pleasant on the ears, with some nice harmonies throughout. The album ends with "Wonderchild" which is another dreamy laid back number "Raising The Roof" is an album which you put on on a weekend to just relax, chill and listen. This is definitely not an album you would put on to rock out,or turn up to the max. There is some pleasant middle of the road rock numbers on here, but it for me it was just too laid back, lacking high energy or punchy numbers with big choruses. Which I'm more accustomed to.
