Well, my comrades on Metal press worldwide frequently ask me "Hey, Big Daddy, why do you hate so much Old School Metal? Isn't it Metal too?", due my not so good reviews for those who are trying to live again the 80's and to bring back those kind of music back. My answer is always the same: it's not a matter of loving or hating (because I don't have hate for any band in the world. I just don't like, so I leave it aside), but to an old Metallian as me, to be a relevant band in a world that needs more, bands need to try something new every day. And again, I'll write the recipe: you can take all the musical influences from the 80's, there's nothing wrong with this, but you have to put your life and spirit in your music, because sounding as bands from that time is pure plagiarism. It's like you're living off someone, and selling body parts from the dead. It's a sacrilege with your own work, for if I see a band being a Dolly clone; it's like to hearing a band with no soul. And besides the quartet PERCEVERANCE has a very good work, the moldy feeling of the eighties infects "The Dark Mechanism".

I can detect that personality is hidden under these riffs and rhythmic session, but it is fainting in the middle of great amounts of 80 Metal clichés, trying to be a thing that the band is not. It's something of that proto-Thrash Metal era, remind something from Canadian Metal bands like RAZOR and EXCITER in some points, something from SLAYER's "Show No Mercy" and METALLICA's "Kill 'Em All" era. To beginners on Metal, they can sound like something, but to old era bangers like me, sounds like a lot of stuff I heard before.

The sound quality is pretty good, heavy and clean, and some dusty feelings we feel is a consequence of the band's work, not from the recordings.

But to be honest, hearing songs like "Prepotence", the slower "Trapped in a Corner" (very good riffs, even done with clichés), the more melodic "Mentally Dead" (good tempos and a solid work from bass and drums), and "Persistence of Time" (these guitars are extremely good) can really show that these guys have a lot to say. They only must throw out from them this "passion for the 80's", and put more of them on their work. And I mean more of their own souls.<
