PATHOLOGY is a name that needs no introduction, but you know how things go...so let me quickly introduce you to their discography (just to refresh your memory) before we go on to their brand new album.

The Brutal Death Metal project has been active since 2006, and even with the constant lineup changes, they still managed to remain an interesting act to keep an eye out for; mostly because of how fast they managed to release their albums in the past, and how good they actually were! Most albums that don't take longer than two years to make are, let's face it - not that good. Still, since the band's debut called "Surgically Hacked" in 2006, they started to become a sick and relentless force in the genre, and have kept their energy to this very day. Two years later in 2008 and the light of the day was seen by their second full-length album (considering they mostly release full-lengths). Although the debut was out via Amputated Vein Records, this one was released via Grindhead Records. "Incisions of Perverse Debauchery" was a decent record with decent songs, and of course some ultra sick album artwork, and it gained many more fans for the band.

"Age of Onset" was quite underrated, although it was released through the same label that released the band's brand new record - Comatose Music. In between the new album and this one, they also released "Code Injection" as a single. "Legacy of the Ancients" was also an okay album, not my personal favorite but it was a decent one, although this one was an important album in the band's career, because at that time it seemed like it was going to be the last one to feature Matti Way on vocals.

"Awaken to the Suffering" was the band's fifth full-length at the time, and it got a brand new vocalist called Jonathan Huber, whom you might know from I DECLARE WAR (at the time, not currently). Victory Records provided the support that was needed for this album and the next one in 2012, "The Time of Great Purification". I would also like to mention that "Tyrannical Decay" was released as a single the same year as this record.

For reason or another (personal conflict, unsatisfied fans) this was the last performance of Jonathan with PATHOLOGY, and 2013's album "Lords of Rephaim" released via Sevared Records welcomed back the original vocalist. A lot of people rejoiced, including myself - although I did enjoy the previous two with the new guy. Only a year later, "Throne of Reign" got released, around the end of summer. To finally break the cycle, the band didn't release anything for a long time, three years, which is more like a record for them in terms of time between records and 2017 marks the release of their ninth full-length album out via Comatose Music; which is self-titled, so it's simply called simply "Pathology". It's right around the corner and two tracks (of the ten in total) are already available on Bandcamp. All of the tracks are one-word titles, and as I mentioned previously, you can listen to "Lamentation" and "Dolorous". Once again the artwork was done by one of my favorite artists in the genre, Pär Olofsson.

Can't say much but from what I've heard, it's really good; it's worth the three year wait, and it's going to be destructively massive. Get stoked for that July 21^st release!
