OVERDRIVERS are a hard rock band based out of France, formed back in 2015. This is their second full-length album entitled "She's On Her Period" distributed by Season of Mist records. As you can tell from the album title, this is a band that does not take itself seriously and uses its fair share of humor, especially towards the female gender. So the first track being "The Best Blowjob in History" is not only very boastful on its narrative, but it has that old school AC/DC, IRON MAIDEN aspect to it. This is as straight to the point as it gets, a nod to great rockers of Australia. This is a fun-loving piece of music.

"Hellhounds" has a slower start and uses a slightly different style in the rhythm guitars, again using the elements of pure rock being simplicity, a chorus with multiple vocal tracks and groovy hooks. You may read a lot of comparisons to the almighty rockers AC/DC, because they do rely heavily on that style in the solos, the vocal structure and delivery and yes the trademark rhythm parts, but everything is done extremely well. The next one is wonderfully titled "Show Your Boobies", something I am sure none of you have ever heard at a hard rock or metal show. If you are lucky maybe you actually witnessed the act itself. I guess this is one of those live tracks that should incite the female participants in the crowd and have the males rocking their heads to the beat. It had been a while since I had heard a song with this theme, the last that comes to mind was from Canadian metal legends ANVIL.

The rather comical title "Mister Moo" comes next and it is a great rock and roll song, which in some ways does remind me a bit of MOTORHEAD but with a post-grunge edge to it. The chorus has the same party side to it, which even if it does sound really odd, just seems fun to sing along to. The title track "She's On Her Period", regardless of its title is definitely not of the sad nature, it rocks your socks off and is very energetic in its one and approach. Not sure this is the kind of chorus you would sing loud in your own home, but at a concert filled with males who can certainly related to the theme, why not?

Pretty much every song follows a pattern we have heard a million times before, but for some reason, the songs are not annoying whatsoever, they are a lot of fun to listen to and will put a smile on your face.
