Fractured Minds
Our Mirage

Metalcore is becoming more and more a mainstream Metal genre, and with that you will get the bands that start fitting that bill more and more. OUR MIRAGE is such a band. These Germans came together and were formed in 2017 and now, in 2026, are ready to let the world hear their fourth studio album "Fractured Minds" and it is one that has all the marks of a band that is about to hit the bigger stages. Because if there is one thing that is certain after having listened to the album, OUR MIRAGE are hitting all the right notes, know how to make the music sound good and have a knack to make sure that what you hear not only sounds good, but also will nestle itself between your ears, whatever you think of it.
For those who follow my reviews, you will know that I have begun to really admire top shelf Metalcore, mainly due to that other German band UNPROCESSED, who delivered two absolute crackers in a row. I would like to compare OUR MIRAGE to them, but with a few differences. The first one being that the latter doesn't have its boundaries set as wide as the former. They don't stray as far in extreme heaviness as well as mellow or solemn tones. The other thing that OUR MIRAGE isn't is as freaky as UNPROCESSED. They have more of a straight line that they travel along. The last difference is that "Fractured Minds" exists without the bass being the major contributor to the sound. On this album there is a lot more equality between the instruments and the vocals. And still I feel that they are comparable, as the sound that in being extracted from my speakers is roughly the same, has the same foundation.
As to the songs themselves, they are simply quite good. I wouldn't call them exceptional as such, but due to the whole "Fractured Minds" album sounding very coherent, with good bones and very pleasant arrangements that are built up in a way that it keeps your ears and mind easily occupied. This makes OUR MIRAGE a good band that has a lot to offer. It also has me feeling about "Fractured Minds" as a very good album, bordering on the exceptional level. Conclusion; if you like your Metalcore to be good but not too freaky or outlandish, you might want to check out OUR MIRAGE on "Fractured Minds".
