This is the first full-length album from the German/Austria Post-Death band. They did release two EP's last year though. They released ''Into the Void'' in the beginning of the year and they did a masterful Covers EP called ''Cover Me In Darkness'' in August. I highly suggest you guys listen to the ALICE IN CHAINS cover, it's really impressive and it's pretty rare you see bands doing covers of this legendary band.
This is a pretty powerful album. They mix a number of different styles and it's definitely a very unique sound. I highly enjoy bands in the Post-Rock genre, bands like ISIS, RUSSIAN CIRCLES, BATTLES among countless others. They mix Post-Rock with elements of Melodic Death Metal and thrown in for good measure, some late nineties Nu Metal. I mean I would have never thought of a band mixing all these genres in a blender and releasing something this...unique! I used to be a big Nu Metal fan back in the day but slowly got tired of it. This band doesn't overdo it thankfully. You have elements here and there but the basis of the band is mixing Aggressive Death Metal with the Post-Rock ambiance. They did a masterful job of mixing everything and make it seamless.
They seem really passionate about their craft and even though with three releases in one year, the album stands tall. They are signed to Nuclear Blast and that's going to be something very important for the next step in their career. Nuclear Blast is an unstoppable juggernaut and they really fully backup their bands. By the way, they are touring with the highly regarded EQUILIBRIUM in early 2020 so check them out if you can! That album cover is wicked, I don't know who the artist is but they did a great job. If you go on their website, their vinyls have some great designs as well and well worth a second look.
The production is top notch and if you like anything related to Post-Metal, you are truly going to fall in love with this band.
