Re-Living in Profanity
Obscene Gesture
Wow, this Crossover/Thrash Metal/Hardcore release will put the walls of your home down!

Full-lengths as "Speak English or Die" (of S.O.D.), "D.R.I." (of D.R.I.), "The Age of Quarrel" (of CRO-MAGS), "Cause for Alarm" (of AGNOSTIC FRONT), "Game Over" (of NUCLEAR ASSAULT), "I Against I" (of BAD BRAINS), "Convicted" (of CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER), "Animosity" (of C.O.C.), "Crucificados Pelo Sistema" (of RATOS DE PORÃO), "Suicidal Tendencies" (of SUICIDAL TENDENCIES) - where the fingertips of the pioneer DISCHARGE were clear - were seminal for stating what's known as Crossover/Thrash Metal. The genre was the fusion of Hardcore with Thrash Metal elements, and depending of the point of view you take (if a Thrash Metal is using more Hardcore influences than the natural ones of the genre, or if a Hardcore act starts to use Thrash Metal or Metal elements), you can have a different look on the genre. And the fruits of the pioneers' works can be heard on "Re-Living in Profanity", of the North American quartet OBSCENE GESTURE.
Rob Hill (known for his works with AGENT STEEL and EVIL DEAD) did the original production and this remix as well, allowing the band to sound aggressive and nasty with all its Thrash Metal/Crossover/Hardcore elements, but clear and defined at the same time, allowing anyone to access what the band expresses. And this version shows a completely new artwork. First of all, this is a new release of "Living in Profanity", the band's album released back on 2007, here with a new mixing and with some bonus songs (all of them coming from the band's Demo "Straight Outta the Gutter" (released on 2006). Second: this quartet had former members of acts as AGENT STEEL, EVIL DEAD, STEEL PROPHET, ARMORED SAINT, MALICE, ABATTOIR and others, so experience isn't a problem. Finally, the band works on a trench combining a furious form of Thrash Metal/Crossover with aggressive Thrash Metal tendencies, being furious and sharp, but always with excellent instrumental arrangements (without losing the spontaneous fury of the genre).
And the best of everything: it sounds actual (even after all these years after the full-length original release), and great! These remixed versions of "Bullets Pay the Bills", "Tear You Apart", "Losing My Mind", "Masters Fall", "Fallen", "Crumbs", "Hand of Fate", "Black and Blue Love", "Enough", "The End", "Everything", "Lovely", "Warning", "I Wanna Live", "Too Far", "In the Name of", "Bring the Blood", "Pink on the Inside", "Don't Matter", "Killing Kids" and "What You Gonna Do" aren't only worthy of being heard, but being heard at the loudest sound volume possible to make the walls tremble and disturb the peace in the your neighborhood. And as bonus, here are the demo versions for "Do You Believe", "Don't Matter", "Fallen", "Enough", "Killing Kids", "Lovely", and "What You Gonna Do".
The band ended its activities on May 2016 due to the passing of Guy, and Chuck passed past June 4th. It means that "Re-Living in Profanity" has a flavor of tribute to their memories, and OBSCENE GESTURE can rest in peace.
