Night In Gales

What a wonderful surprise! NIGHT IN GALES strikes back with "Five Scars". Fourteen years ago they released an amazing album called "Towards The Twilight", I remember myself talking positively about it with a lot of enthusiasm. It was an excellent debut. Afterwards they had released "Thunderbeast" which was a fantastic album as well. However, the next two albums "Nailwork" and "Necrodynamic" didn't have the same luck as the first two. This year, after ten years of total silence, NIGHT IN GALES releases "Five Scars".
The music of NIGHT IN GALES is being characterized as Melodic Death / Thrash Metal from the most editors. I share the same opinion as IN FLAMES and KREATOR (new era) is among the band's main influences. Leaving behind their experimental Thrash phase of "Nailwork" and "Necrodynamic", the band returned to the style I like more, melodic Death Metal. Not only the melodies have returned, but the material seems to be more dramatic, emotional and melancholic than ever.
I checked out tracks like "Days Of The Mute", "The Tides Of November", "Endtrip", "Five Scars", "Life Denied", "Bloodsong" and "Blackmouth Blues" are definitely tracks of excellent melodic extreme music. Powerful guitar riffs, strong rhythm section and the vocals of Bjorn Goosses sound better than ever.
This new album of NIGHT IN GALES is also a comeback to the roots, reminding you the glorious past of this band. It is well recommended to anyone who enjoys the great melodic nature of extreme music.
