The love for the old days of Black Metal during the first half of the 90's still manifests itself today when younger bands follow the same steps of those bands in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Greece, Brazil and other countries. Obviously a band in such way will never be a new MAYHEM, BURZUM, DARK FUNERAL, MARDUK, MYSTERIIS, ROTTING CHRIST or any other like them, because they have built something personal. But it doesn't mean that bands as the UK based quartet MORTE LUNE can't show a fine work on "Temple of Flesh".

Their musical way has a charming morbid appeal, using funereal and sad melodies to create something aggressive and nasty, but there are parts with introspective Dark Ambient touches. It's not a new musical formula, but in the way this trio plays, it's really charming and hypnotic, like SATYRICON was on "Dark Medieval Times"/"The Shadowthrone" days. It's nothing new, but something very good. The production focused its efforts to build something crude and atmospheric, in the way that old releases from the early days on the 90's sounded back in the past. But there's a difference: the raw instrumental tunes used can't hide the clean aesthetics used to create a sonority that could seem old, but in a way that the listeners can understand.

Musically, the six songs of this EP can be easily understood and assimilated by the senses, being the best ones "Silence of the Night" (raw ambiances and melodies are created by the guitar riffs, with nasty shrieks being heard), "Chalice of Blood" (faster and with a simple technical approach, with good bass guitar and drums presence, and it's a delight made music for fans of old days of DARKTHRONE), and "Temple of Flesh" (with its slower climatic parts, and the old funereal melodies expressed by the guitars are amazing).

MORTE LUNE really can be a delight for those who saw the glorious days of early Black Metal scene on the 90's, so hear "Temple of the Flesh" and enjoy it!
