MORDOM is a Death/Doom Metal band based out of the United States. Max is the only current member. They formed in 2018 and were originally called MORTIS MOMORIAN. "Cry of the Dying World" is about corruption and the impact it has had on both humanity and the world. The first half of the album centers around the human directly, addressing lives ruined due to corruption in the medicine and pharmacy and a society torn apart by corruption in the media. The second half is about the consequences in terms of climate change and destruction, first in the form of in wildfires and bombings and the impending Holocene extinction event.

"Narcosis" leads off the album; a 12-minute beast. It opens with slow drum beats, guitars and bass. Harsh vocals enter with the deepest of hate, along with a down-tuned guitar riff that is lower than the lowest plane of Hell. The music perfectly matches the lyrical content of the song...humanity is fucked. It takes an ambient pause for a few minutes, then returns with a renewed fervor. "Betrayed" is 15 minutes in length, beginning with more reverberating low guitar strikes and vocals that sound like the come from the Dark Lord himself. It picks up then drops back to almost nothing, with some ambiance and clean guitar notes from afar. The second half of the song is just an exercise in pure hatred. Society is fighting back against the betrayal.

"The Fire" is a much shorter five-minute song, consisting of barely a whisper of sounds. The vocals are very quiet as is the guitar. As the fires rage, the subject sits quietly, reflecting on the scene. Rather then being angry, he can barely speak of the atrocities caused by man and climate change. "The Mausoleum" closes the album; a 17-minute lumbering mammoth of a song. The Holocene extinction refers to the current period we are living in, and the theory that all will come to pass in our lifetime. It's a grim prognostication, reflected in the slow, distorted guitars and drawn-out harsh vocals. Before the half-way mark, it picks up with speed and intensity. The final six minutes are almost hopeful in their sound...the calm before the storm if you will.

Overall, this was a deeply disturbing album that made its point about the pitfalls of mankind and all that we are doing to destroy our world...sometimes knowingly and others unwittingly. The end result is the same...total and utter annihilation. The image on the album cover is also quite poignant in this theme. Sleep tight.
