Addiction To Musickal Dissection
Morbo
Death Metal old school the brutal way you can expect!
It's what Italian quintet MORBO is about, and their first album, "Addiction to Musickal Dissection" is a bolt of brutality, even having some distinct elements that make the difference between them and this flood of old school bands.
First of all, the way Mirko sings is far from clone from Chuck Schuldiner, Karl Willets or Matti Karki, and the guitars arrangements are really astonishing. The rhythmic kitchen tries some movements and accords not common in terms of Death Metal. To them, the ways they play really remember an old school band, but with personality, so, it's very good. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow like a funeral dirge, and always keep the weight necessary for the style.
The production is in a good level, not extremely good or perfect (hey, we're talking about a band focused on 90's Death Metal, let's have this in mind), and could be better in terms of guitar sound, but it's not nasty or dirty. You can hear all instruments clearly.
Their best moments: "Abominangel (Let Them Stink of Fear)" (with some great vocals and riffs), the slow and heavy "Decomposmopolitan" (bass guitars and drums are perfect here, along with great guitar riffs), the well worked "Kaleidoscopic Incubus", and the sinister and somber "Rending the Ephemeral Veil".
Be welcome, guys!
