Hostile Resistance

I'm already liking this one, just for the title, if nothing else. "Hostile Resistance," is on the cover,
it just sounds Metal! The first thing that you hear is an old school, punk sound, but with a little bit of a more modern tone but then again adding more old school, a solo to lead you into a nice stretch of vocals. It's all pretty tight, sounding like something you could hear on the radio. Hailing from Finland, this is the fourth album for the foursome. Finnish Thrash Metal at its finest.
"Hostile Resistance," the title track gets harder at the beginning with a deep baseline in the middle to smoothly switch gears into the drums. In "Paranoia Obsession," the vocals are on point with this one, followed up with an epic solo, it makes me want to hit repeat. Again, starting out with nice vocals, "Rise and Fall," has that, but I love "Dead Redemption," the intro to it is completely different than all of the previous songs I've heard so far and I'm digging it. "Take Me Away," does just that, with the drums kicking and a cool rift to start, yet another one of my favorite cuts on this album. Following it up is "Enemy Number One," an energetic attempt that made me turn it up when it came on.
Finally, "Last Escape," complimenting an overall trending sound, something current that you could possibly hear at a large festival. This is an act that actually reminds me of some of the random bands I saw last Summer at a couple of the larger American festivals. They don't remind me of anyone in particular really, but their style should be popular with the younger generation. It has a familiar vibe and style, maybe TRIVIUM-like, if I had to pick a band. I hear more of that than say your Bay Area thrash sound coming out of this one even though they call themselves thrash. It's not as unique as I would like, but the overall sound works and they have all of the talent they need to keep putting out new, good music.
Like I said before, it is a current style and sound, I guess that means they are on to something. If it's not broke, don't fix it. What they do and have done here should be well received. I'm sure that the passion from their hearts come through when they play live, and the connection will happen when their fans hear the highlights of this one.
