MARYANNE SCANDIFFIO'S NO ANGELS is a Hard Rock band from the US that practices sound that reminds of the 80's. They have recently released their newest remastered album "This Ain't Heaven" through Heaven and Hell Records and that is what we are going to talk about.

The opening song from the album is "Shake" and it will do it to you. The song starts with a nice guitar riff that came from the 80's and then MaryAnne vocals kicks in to complete the party. It is a nice song and it reminded me of MR.BIG sometimes. "No Angels" starts with a nice acoustic guitar that is followed by a guitar playing the same melody, but now with distortion and a lot of energy. This song will definitely transport you back to the 1980's and that is just awesome.

"I Wanna be with You" starts out with a guitar riff that is followed by some cool vocals, which reminded me of the classical Summer of 69 by BRIAN ADAMS and maybe it was the intention to that. The backing vocal works here is pretty good. "Mary Jane" is a different song, with more cadency and softer than the previous songs.

"Tow the Line", "Wine, beer, whiskey and gin" and "Now I Know" are a good triad and it have all the 1980's elements that you will hear on this album. "Goodbye" is the first semi-ballad of the record and it have a lot of good vibes, nice acoustic guitars and the vocals sounds powerful as well. I liked how that song sounds.

"Boy" seems to have come out of PAUL GILBERT's mind, because it definitely reminded me of his solo work and I loved it. After that being said, you just have to listen to it. "What You Want" starts with vocal melody and then the guitars, bass and drums kicks in with more powerful. The drums on that song are really good and it just kept the nice vibe.

"Madness" is the song that closes the album and it starts out with a fast guitar riff, very energetic vocals, bass and drums as well. This song is killer and it will just make you feel like going wild in the city as you have a couple of drinks with your mates. Such a cool song to end the album.

MARYANNE SCANDIFFIO'S NO ANGELS have written and released a good Hard Rock album, with a lot of 1980's elements that helped creating a very specific ambiance for all the songs. The instruments are good, the vocals are good and the production is cool as well. Yeah, they did it.
