A Sludge/Black Metal band, this is their fifth full-length album, and contains ten tracks. "Egoisto" is the first cut. The vocals are gravely but the music is more in line with the "Black 'N Roll" genre, because it has a swing to it. Beyond that, there really isn't much to talk about. "Hang 'Em Low (So the Rats Can Get 'Em)" features a slower groove with horrid vocals and perhaps a more straightforward or more traditional sound. Most of the sound is fairly downtrodden, like the dregs of life everyone experiences but no one really wants to talk about.

"Grim Reaping" features an Old School riff with plenty of attitude. The vocals represent what is worst about life and the grim reaping will take you out of your misery. "Orbital Plus" is another maddeningly depressing song with heavy accents and putrid vocals. I am somewhat surprised that this band is signed to a major label...they offer little in terms of advancing the genre of Metal. "Piss Ritual" is a short burner with a MOTORHEAD type vibe. The riffs are simple and although the sound is despondent, you can pick up on some of the Punk influences in this track.

"Of Frost and Decay" is really the first song that offers us some variation in the opening sequence of clean guitars, but that familiar romp returns shortly. The songs reek of decay in two senses...the first being the desperate sound, and the second being the boring and uninventive nature of the music. "Walking Corpse" features an energetic performance from the vocalist but not much from the music. These riffs are trite and, well, boring, and the music is starting to feel a little tongue in cheek. "New Age Pagan" is another mediocre offering with bland riffs and vocals. The bass work is decent here, but that's about all I can say about the song that is good.

"Odysseus" closes the album. It's a bit of an oxymoron if you think about it. As a mythical figure, he is known for his intellect, which is not how I would characterize the song. Overall, as I mentioned above, I am surprised to learn that this band is signed to Metal Blade Records. Their sound is nothing new, and I can't imagine that they sell many records. I would give this album a hard pass, but to each his own.
