Trinity Of Suns
Lynx

Sometimes I's not only nice, but also very necessary to take a step back from all the outlandish Heavy and Death orientated bands, and just let in a bit of Heavy Rock, or Hard Rock if that is your preference. Well, in that case a band like LYNX might be the answer. They are from Giessen in Germany and have been active since 2020. And although the album "Trinity Of Suns" is my first encounter with the band, in reality it is their second album. Their debut album "Watcher of Skies" was released at the end of 2021, making the wait for this one almost four and a half years, as it is released on 24 April 2026. What I do find remarkable is that they have been picked up by the record company Dying Victims Productions, who usually go for a little (or a lot) heavier bands than LYNX. Does that mean that there are some hidden depths to be revealed? Let's find out, shall we?
If you look at the band's links on social media, you always see the moniker Heavy Rock as an addition, giving us a proper indication as to which direction the LYNX members themselves see their music. and I have top agree. This definitely isn't Metal, but very steady and rather hard hitting Rock. And that is also how the songs are constructed, as pure Rocking melodies are what is eminent in the almost 40 minutes that the band is treating us to their musical thought and deliberations. And as a Heavy Rock band there is no escaping the fact that the songs on "Trinity Of Suns" really reflect that. They are all in just the right frame of mind to make you relax, to put you at ease.
LYNX is a quite comfortable band to listen to, with good musicians that know their stuff, and with Amy Zine they have a singer in their midst that might not be top of the bill, but does her job in a more than satisfactory manner. "Trinity Of Suns" is a decent, solid and very reliable album musically as well as vocally. If only the production would have reflected that kind of solidity as well. As it doesn't, it does bring my rating down, as I feel that Heavy Rock only really comes to fruition when the sound is top notch. I'm really sorry, but it does deprive LYNX of an extra point, making "Trinity Of Suns" decent instead of really good.
