"Muspelheim" has the Melodic Death / Viking Metal feeling to it, the constant fast-paced drum in the background is what sets the rhythm perfectly. The Guitars aren't over powering, not as flamboyant as we come to expect some similar albums, but its blended well together. The vocals are rough and raw, there is a few low growls, but nothing held down too long. It's a great start to the album, allowing you to get into the feeling and ideas from the off. There is a great little solo towards the final third, nothing over the top, and nothing unexpected. The song is kept together well by all sides of the band.

"Wolves of Winter" picks up the pace a bit on the guitars, vocals are still steadily pressing. There is more of a melodic feel to the overall melody. There is a Power Metal feel seeping through. Less Melodic Death Metal at times, whatever the ideal, it is a decent mix. Feels more like 3 INCHES OF BLOOD rather than AMON AMARTH as the title track was. It has a great persistence with the melody, strumming through to high levels, but then fading it out, teasing through. The solo is beautiful in the final 90 seconds, until it picks up pace. It is gone from a gentle stroll to a run. The song fades out completely, but leaves you wanting more.

"Beyond the Northern Waves" crashes in hard and heavy from the start. Me Powerful Viking! The low vocals have turned into powerful growl to start. The feeling is that of a warm-up for a battle. It builds up the pace very well. A few bends here and there on the guitar build up the Power / Viking metal. It is a shorter song, but one you do not want to hear end. The pace and melody are far different on this but allow a new aspect to be heard.

"Mjölnir" like the hammer itself hits hard. Thrashy rifts hit the start, bring the thunder! Melody is progressing nicely, it keeps the foot tap and head banging, the deep and dirty bass hits true like the Thunderer himself. This song is a bit of Thor worshipping, nothing wrong with that. It is another short song that you wish would extend the 5 - 6 minute mark. Shouts of Mjölnir are followed by a beautiful mix of melody. AMON AMARTH would be proud.

"Arsenal" builds from the front and start, unleashing a heavy blend of low, raw vocals and fast-paced drum and guitar strumming. The Melodic Death Metal feel has intertwined into the latter stage of this album; they seem to concentrate more of the solo styles of the guitar, as well as keeping the drummer busy. There is not really, much as far as long lasting vocals, but it does not need it, this style works well for the band. They know what they are good at

"God Ov Chaos" I wonder who they mean? A low deathgrowl hits harder than Loki's dark humor, a blizzard of guitar flows around the start of the song. It is gone back to concentrating on holding on to the vocals for multiple sentences, not an essay by any means, but not just short outbursts. It is a good mix into a very instrumental influenced album. The heavy, dark feel has a slight BEHEMOTH feel to it, just not as in depth. This is the most well balanced song of the album. Full efforts into every aspect have gone down very well here.
