Too Late

Last in Time

Overall, this was a solid album to listen to. The musicianship of the band is evident, and they create some memorable moments on the album.

I found a Bandcamp and Facebook page for the band, but that was about it. They self-describe as “a musical project that was formed in the end of 2021. The sound of the band is influenced by Classic, AOR & Progressive Rock.” The new album here has nine songs. The opening riff of “The Way to Rock” takes me right back to the 80, with it’s sultry keyboard and guitar led sound. The vocals are raspy, and it’s clear that Igor has the range to sing this type of music. As is often the case in this genre, it’s about driving the chorus home.

“How Long” is a second mid-tempo/slower rock song that focuses on the smooth vocals, and supporting guitars and keys. You can tell that the subject is lamenting due to the tender side of the song. “Believer in Love” has a tradeoff of male and female vocals in a duet style. The subject matter at first is tentative, but then the key changes in the chorus, and in come the charming melodies and harmonies. “Moonlight Dreamers” also has a charming sound, and so far, the band is able to push their brand of AOR with memorable passages.

“The Animal” moves forward with an almost desert Rock sound in the guitars, or at least, some Sothern influence. The riff is rough, the song is charged, and Igor pours his all into his vocal performance. The guitar solo is excellent as well. “Too Late” is a long seven minutes, which is unusual for AOR. I know that the band also talked about some Progressive elements, but I really don’t hear a whole lot of them. The sound drags on just a bit, but the tender moments are memorable. “Mr. Fantastic” has a sexy opening riff, with a cocksure attitude.  It is fairly simple, but give it time to sink in. It’s like Novocain in that regard…it always works. The keyboard and guitar exchange is great.

“Winter in May” closes the album, and it’s a tender closing piece. Overall, this was a solid album to listen to. The musicianship of the band is evident, and they create some memorable moments on the album.
