Back in 2011, in Sweden, Reese felt that he wanted to create a new music project where his own songwriting could flourish. Soon Daniel T joined and together the two formed a perfect songwriting duo. KORSELD has its roots in a kind of Death/Doom mixed compote, with an atmospheric touch, and everything is performed in the mother tongue. Their newest EP contains four tracks.

"Hall Fanan Hogt" leads off the album. It opens with a mid-tempo, heavy riff and Death vocals. The riffing is fairly simplistic but there are also some guitar harmonies. Around the half-way mark, the sound drops to just guitars and some cymbals. From there, some atmospheric elements rear their head. "Redo for Strid" is a shorter, three-minute song, with ominous tones and big guitar strikes. The depressive tones are quite strong here. "Hang Dem Hogt" is only two-and-a-half minutes in length. The guitars and drums create a galloping effect, as it sounds like machine gun fire over a battlefield of wounded and bloody soldiers. It speeds up for a couple passages and ends before you know it.

The title track closes the album, another short song, clocking in at just over three-minutes long. I can hear the bass guitar clearly here. The rhythm guitars build some harmony, and keys come in at the chorus. It is MAIDEN-esque in its delivery. Four short songs sure make it hard to come up with an honest rating. I like the sound, but they need some more time together to develop their approach. The four tracks were quite close to one another in terms of their pacing and sound. It's a good start, but they have a ways to go.
