KLAUS SCHUBERT is a guitarist from Austria. Hi new album, "Desperados On The Run", was released lately consisting of mostly instrumental songs written by Schubert from his songs with bands such as NO BROS, SCHUBERT, TITTY TWISTER BAND and ROCK BUNNIES. All the songs were remastered. The whole album lasts for almost 60 minutes of Hard Rock instrumentalism.
Right from the first song, "Xerxes", the listener will undertake a sort of galactic journey, a cosmic sensation. On "La Minchia Della Follia" there is quite a soothing atmosphere, amazing guitars, great bass work, tempo changes of the drums absorbing several musical directions, from symphony to Rock. I think that some of these songs will be perfect as soundtracks for the movies. For example, the short track, (only 1:40), "Back To The Hi-Lands" sweeps with keyboards like in the vein of EUROPE along with fine 80s Hard Rock based guitar riffs or "Schubert's 8th / The Finished" with fabulous keys and hard hitting drums which will make an exciting entry for a good catastrophic film with ounces of adrenaline. On the other hand, the softer touch of "Miracle Man", delivered with a great orchestra, will suit a romantic production.
Everybody who likes STEVE VAI, will probably noticed the similarities to the great guitar man on "(O'Capitano) Rough & Rare". Furthermore, it will be easy to notice the acoustic guitar as it feels like a SCORPIONS ballad. With the harmonic trends of "Ethical Tango" there will be a time to relax only to a rude wake up slamming to a true sensation of 80s Hard Rock with "Eye Of The Elbish Storm", mixed with keys & guitar riff influences of WHITESNAKE, DEEP PURPLE, EUROPE and MSG. I noticed that "The Death Of A Hungarian Stag"'s guitars remind me of AXEL RUDI PELL's anthem ballads.
I have three special favorites out of "Desperados On The Run". "Travel by Train" with creative and strong guitar riffs penetrating deep with melodies along with a tight rhythm section added by Hammond. This is a true powerful track, ideal for train travel, quite a kick ass, an enjoyable hit. "Desperados On The Run" begins with bass & guitar riff like in the range of DEEP PURPLE's "Smoke in the Water". The melodic riffing & solos sounds pretty much like something of Michael Shenker, authentic Hard Rock ambiance and of course fantastic Hammond back to the 80s. "(Angst) Let Me Put My Finger" with an awesome guitar solo and rhythm guitars following BLACK SABBATH mixed with Bluesy WHITESNAKE. The vocalist delivers a highly memorable chorus itching Brian Johnson of AC/DC. This is a fantastic Hammond driven pledging a hard flavored Rock perception.
Fans of instrumental Hard Rock will feed on this one influenced by guitarists like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, bands like DEEP PURPLE, WHITESNAKE, MSG, SCORPIONS, BLACK SABBATH, AXEL RUDI PELL, AC/DC and generally everything that is 80s with melodies.
