Killus - Ultrazombies album cover

After times of silence on Spain, it seems that their Metal / Rock scene is becoming strong, showing a great range of Metal / Rock bands, from the aggressive Metal styles to some more melodic, and other ones more accessible to a broader public.

On the last case, we could put the insane quartet KILLUS, that comes from the city of Vila-real, unleashing a mix between Metal, Punk Rock and Industrial music on the latest album, "Ultrazombies".

Yes, they mix it in a perfect way, having melodic songs, and some with a clear influence from extreme Metal styles (as the Thrash / Groove Metal guitars on "Satanachia"), but you can feel the clear touches of Industrial Metal / Rock in many occasions on the album as well (the modern groove on "Ultrazombies" will show it perfectly), and some Goth Rock influence as well. The band guys are skilled musicians, and excellent musical composers, because they create astonishing and hooking songs, with a feeling that they are a son born by the meeting of earlier MISFITS influence with RAMMSTEIN, but don't be so silly, because this is just a simple comparison. Their musical work is far beyond what I could write or say.

The album's sound quality is really very good. It creates that strong and aggressive feeling their music needs, but the clean atmosphere is really in a good level, so we all can hear what they are playing clearly.

Every little musical piece of "Ultrazombies" is excellent. But to the lazy ones, I point as their best shots the hooking Industrial / Goth Rock song "Ultrazombies" (but be prepared for some great guitars, electronic effects, and an excellent chorus), the nasty, heavy and contagious tracks "Welcome to My Madness" (with very good vocals) and "White Lines" (featuring Roman Marisak as special guest on vocals, and the song is filled with sinuous guitars, along with fine drums and bass rhythmic work), the Goth / Dark Rock melodies on "The Witch's Pact", the heavy and aggressive work from bass and drums on "Satanachia", the cybernetic hooking groove that "The Last Passenger" has, the excellent vocals and musical arrangements on "Crazy Trip on the Road" (they really know how to change rhythms without losing their musical accessibility), and the terror heavy ballad called "The Ghost Under My Bed" (with its nasty and funereal atmosphere, with very sinister whispers and excellent bass guitar interventions).

These Spanish zombies rose from their graves to unleash a great musical work, so hear and surrender to "Utrazombies".
