Karnak Seti - In Harmonic Entropy album cover

KARNAK SETI is a band from Portugal which exists since 2001. The members of KARNAK SETI bring Egypt to Portugal! Why that? The Karnak Temple Complex-usually called Karnak-comprises a vast mix of decayed temples, chapels, pylons, and other buildings. The area around Karnak was the ancient Egyptian Ipet-isut ("The Most Selected of Places") and the main place of worship of the eighteenth dynasty Theban Triad with the god Amun as its head. It is part of the monumental city of Thebes. The Karnak complex takes its name from the nearby and partly surrounded, modern village of el-Karnak, some 2.5 km north of Luxor. Also, SETI or SUTI was an ancient Egyptian soldier during the late 18th dynasty (14th century BCE), the commander of the army, later mentioned as vizier (the highest official in Ancient Egypt to serve the king) on monuments of his son.

These Portuguesesguys are very good with the history but what about their music? The "In Harmonic Entropy"is the second full-length release from the band. As their previews album the "In Harmonic Entropy" guide us through a music path of melodic Death Metal with a veil of secrecy. So take a place to solve the mystery...

The album started with the "Long Gone Shadow", very good played Death Metal as DARK TRANQUILLITY with an electronic touch. After a slow intro the track became a stream of riffs and melodies! António Jesus (one of band guitarists) has a name from paradise but a hand from hell! Excellent guitars and a voice that if Lucifer heard it will be jealousy...Luis Erre screams like a devil. Hey guy did you escape from hell? At the end of the song a very touchy solo made me crazier with that track! It was a simple solo but put it in the right place and played well! The "The Only Red Mist Descends" continued at the same tempo

"Reduced To Trash ... Soon To Fade
And I'll Send You Myself ... To A Place Where Tables Turn, Kingdoms Fall
Your Hand Will Climb ... To Seek Retaliation
Time Changed Positions... I Draw The Moment"

screamed Luis Erre and my mind went to the Ancient Egypt...The second vocals  complete the puzzle of this music miracle! "Loss" I lost my mind again!Luis Barreto hit the cymbals and the sergeant SETI walked up from his Pyramid! Luis knows how to slow down the groove and take the song in a smoother direction. After three hurricanes"Among The Sleepless", "Golden Age Of Downfalls", "Luctor Et Emergo" it was a time to rest for a while or not? "Stranded By Existence" started with a mid-tempo, heavy riffs but after the middle of the track the tempo speeded up again. These guys never rest! I am sure that they have spent a lot of time in studios working this excellent staff. The album ended with the 8 minute "Collateral Dreams" an atmospheric mixed music travel full of emotions feelings and anger, awesome!

I have a question from you dudes, are you existed since 2001 or 666? Death Metal rests on the shoulders of KARNAK SETI. A very solid band played well with a lot of promises. An album that every Death Metal fan MUST have!!
