A Moment, A Place, A Reason

It's fair to say that this band does not rush into things. Formed in the late 90's, they released their first EP in 2005, followed by their debut album "Time of Revenge" in 2008. And now they follow it up eight years later.
I have not heard their previous releases so I cannot say how this compares, but I can say that the band sound very mature on this release. They utilise their skills in a way that doesn't come across like they are showing off. They have a good sense of melody that is supported by a strong rhythm section. The lead guitar solos have occasional touch of Blues to them, which gives the composition character. The production is very good, giving the album a modern sound, and all of the instruments are represented clearly.
The sound is generally influenced by 70's Rock. The kind of names that spring to mind are DEEP PURPLE, LED ZEPPELIN, JIMI HENDRIX and there are occasional elements of IRON MAIDEN and JUDAS PREIST.
IVORY have released a fresh sounding album that is mature and enthusiastic. If you like modern Rock with a retro twist then this is a definite recommendation.
It is most certainly not for anyone who is looking for something original, and for some the 70's influences may come across as overly retro and boring. Other than that, it is pretty good.
