Reforged - Machine World
Iron Savior

Since the coming of the German model for Heavy/Power Metal at the turn of the first to the second half of the 80s (thanks to contributions done by HELLOWEEN, BLIND GUARDIAN, RAGE, GRAVE DIGGER and RUNNING WILD), things evolved more and more there, and even with traces of the genre, there are some that prefer to work into a more traditional Heavy Metal tendency. This is precisely the case of IRON SAVIOR, here with “Reforged - Machine World”, their latest full-length and the third release of their series called “Reforged”. Piet Sielck (the band’s founder, guitarist and singer, and known sound engineer) produced, mixed and mastered the album, guaranteeing the weight and clarity of the sonority, what the music of the band needed to sound as great as it is. And Piet did the artwork as well, something really charming that carries the spirit of the band’s lyrics.
Before everything, one must have in mind that Piet is one of the forefathers of German Heavy/Power Metal school along with Kai Hansen, because they both played on GENTRY and SECOND HELL, the embryos of what would become HELLOWEEN in the future (besides Piet was out when the band adopted their definitive name, and worked for years as sound engineer and producer before creating his own band). Then things become clear, and is explained the tendency to follow the same Heavy/Power Metal ways that are known, but on a personal and weighty appeal. And if you’re into IRON SAVIOR music, you’ll keep in this way, because it’s still technical, elegant and filled with charming instrumental arrangements and hooking melodies, but thundering with a heavy weight that could shatter Earth’s crust!
As the other releases of “Reforged” series, here are presented re-recorded versions of older songs of the band, and even after all these years, inspiration and good taste on the band’s music can be heard throughout all the songs. And the re-recorded versions of “Never Say Die”, “Eye of the World”, “Walls of Fire”, “Time Will Tell”, “Dragons Rising”, “Stonecold”, “Machine World”, “Stand Against the King”, “Break It Up”, “Contortions of Time”, “Wings of Deliverance”, “Touching the Rainbow”, “I Will Be There”, “Forevermore” and “H.M. Powered Man” don’t tear the charm of the original ones, but add something new and valuable to them. And “Starbreaker” is a JUDAS PRIEST cover with the same elements found on IRON SAVIOUR’s music (what depicts as the English quintet is a primordial influence to Heavy/Power Metal). Yes, these 16 re-recorded songs are filled with weight and melodies, sometimes following a fast tendency, on others using a heavier and slow approach is used, with excellent guitar riffs and arrangements, thunderous and heavy rhythms from bass guitar and drums, and excellent vocals, and it’s almost impossible to not bang your heads and sing along. But the balance of quality is amazing, even thinking that IRON SAVIOR is a veteran with almost 30 years of career.
“Reforged - Machine World” comes in a very good time, to show that IRON SAVIOR is still alive, kicking and producing great songs. Pay attention and listen to it, and enjoy!
