INVISIBLE CONTROL is a Melodic Death Metal band from Brazil. "Created in Chaos" is the group's first full-length album, released independently on February 25, 2022.

I guess you could say that I have been converted in the ways of Melodic Death Metal. I generally thought that it was sort of a cheesy subgenre, but this band has made me reconsider my views. The riffs are crushing, groovy and only offering glimpses of influences from NWOBHM - almost akin to what CARCASS is doing in this second chapter of their career. While songs like "Creation in Chaos" are standard, headbanging Melo-Death tunes, other tracks like "Devourers" offer a little more in the groove/brutality department with a progressive tinge, similar to what GOJIRA has done on their classic albums like "L'Enfant Sauvage." Suffice to say, this band is excellent through and through.

Now, let's talk about the musicians. Daniela Serafim is an excellent addition to the rapidly increasing line of brutal female Metal vocalists. Her growls and screams are incredibly powerful, showing influences from Alissa White-Gluz to even David Vincent. Marco Melo and Dennys Bodex make an incredible guitar duo along the order of Bill Steer and Michael Amott, and their solos owe a lot to one of my favorite lead guitarists of all time, Marty Friedman ("Cold Blood"). Marcos Flávio's bass playing, while not necessarily a stand-out feature, complement the riffs perfectly and anchor the groove in an effective way. And last but not least, Wagner Campos is a groove machine, churning out precise, robotic and devastating beats that change at the drop of a hat.

Other highlights from this album include "Purgatory," with its driving pace and crushing riffs; "Invisible to You," which has, in my opinion, Daniela Serafim's strongest vocal performance on the record; and "Cursed Be," with its PANTERA-esque groove, somber middle section, and incredible melodic solos from Marco Melo and Dennys Bodex.

Overall, this is a strong debut. These riffs are going to live in my head for a while because they're extremely catchy and brilliantly written. Mark my words, INVISIBLE CONTROL have a bright future ahead of them.
