Invictus - Eden album cover

Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: INVICTUS; signed via Iron Shield Records, hailing from the glory of Germany - performing Heavy Metal, on their debut album entitled: "Eden" (released January 24th, 2020).

Since formation in 2017; the quintet in question have only this here debut album in their discography so far entitled: "Eden", 11 tracks ranging at around 41:22 - INVICTUS arrange an intricately designed formula of hard-hitting Heavy Metal developments. Opening up with an acoustic-driven "Intro"; until "The Hammer" begins the record with a blistering barrage of amplified adrenaline, boistrously bouncy crunchiness & a flamboyantly composed fretwork of frolicking gallops amalgamated into a catchy fabrication of vehemently versatile virtuosity. Forging an overdose of riveting rhythms that thunder with quintessential momentum; primitively meticulous manifestations, and a borderline foundation of harmonically hasty jumpiness. Lacerating killer hooks, chunky chugs & concretely gritty firepower.

Consisting of Nicolas Peter on vocals; the frontman excels with a clean, high-pitched ramification of rawly rough screams...throaty perseverence & strong outrè's of panache while revolved around a enriching yet striking performance. "Inside Your Head" empowers eardrums with rapidly swift nimbleness; soaring punchiness, and an adroit aesthetic of oscillating substance that overarchs into a frolicking gallop...implementing an experimental embellishment of monstrously meaty hymns in which supplies monolitic substance. Fabio Winter on guitars creates a dynamic element of jumpy dexterity, and breakneck trailblazing that organically shreds with rip-roaring vibrancy. "The Garden Of Eden" mesmerizes with more potent maelstroms of tight songwriting melodies while subjugating speedy elan, bombast & gnarly fizzle.

Fabian Scharf on the audible bassist injects infectiously thick thumpiness; pulsating with volatile precision, steely quirkiness & relentlessly raging stability. "Through The Storm" is a great highlight for me; morphing memorably captivating instrumentation, razor-sharp skill & zestfully yet succulent weightiness. Andreas Honsberg on the 2nd guitar flows with mid-tempo strummings; while outbursting with flavour, finesse & elegantly exquisite expertise. Rollicking power anthems, and ballads that stir similar shine to that of DREAM EVIL. "Thought Of An Idea" invents diligently detailed efficaciousness, amalgamating hybrid dimensions and diverse consistency - almost sounding a bit like old-school HELLOWEEN at times. While powerhouse pummeller David Knobbe rambunctiously batters his drums into a hammering fundamental of stampeding principles, that rampage with rampent results.

"Styx" is another anthemic ballad; layered with mandatory symphonics, rising into a crescendo contrast of epic lungs, and prestigious pipes while portraying a silver lining of lacerating transparency in which adroitly attributes a fiery grandures of wonderously progressive technicalities. "Break The Chains" opens up with a blatent copy of BLACK SABBATH's iconic "Children Of The Grave" (but a lot of bands have done this by now that it serves to be a traditional tribute of the inventors of metal) trademark riffage; juxtaposed with their own style of potentially talented rituals that pound with remarkable sophistication. "Insomnia" enlighteningly flourishes with high-octane pandemonium, ruthless mayhem & impactful fulfillments of relishing sound production proficiencies which majestically pumps out profusely robust orchestration.

Overall concluding "Eden" with the brilliant finisher: "Burning Empire" which oozes out rumbling twin-guitar attacks, hefty immersivity & intense furocity while singing with subtly prompt distinction. I am compelled to say that INVICTUS certainly outdone themselves for such an explosive debut; I can certify that this is a record that deserves a listen, and is incredibly replayable. The band definitely trigger a calamity of traditional Heavy/Speed/Power Metal mastery that will have you chanting, humming & tapping your feet to in no time flat - a headbanging discovery that will surely guarantee ultimate fixation. Excellent, and highly recommended.
