Dark Paths of Humanity
Intolerance

It seems that Old School Death Metal had become a tendency lately, because there are many new bands releasing works in such a vein today. Some are really very good, but some need desperately to mature, because to work and live in Old School Metal subgenres demands a strong musical personality to evade of being caught copying what already exists. And the Spanish quartet INTOLERANCE, even with a good work shown on "Dark Paths of Humanity", they must sharp their musical efforts a bit more.
As the words above state clearly, the band's musical efforts are based on a form of Old School Death Metal similar to what was created by Dutch Death Metal acts as PESTILENCE (in their early ages, specially the times of "Consuming Impulse") and GOD DETHRONED, or in other words, that form plenty of Thrash Metal and Hardcore influences, but brutal and oppressive. Their technical work is very good, brutal and aggressive, full of a massive energy, but nothing exaggerated. It's good, but too similar to what already exists. But it seems that is just a matter of maturing a bit more, because they have talent. The sonority of "Dark Paths of Humanity" is based on the model used by the 90's Death Metal bands, balancing a set of crude and nasty instrumental tunes with a defined outfit. The work of Marc Rodriguez (recording, mixing) and Javier Félez (mastering) is very good, but a more defined sound would fit better.
The quartet shows a good musical work, and they can become a strong name in the future, as stated by "Embodiment of Chaos" (a slow and bitter song filled with some good snarls and grunts can be heard from the vocals), "Death Before Salavery" (some technical bits appears built upon a solid rhythmic work done by bass guitar and drums), "Flagellation" (with some Hardcore hooking elements permeating the good work of the guitars on the riffs), "Tower of Silence" (very good contrasts between slow tempos and faster moments), and "Dark Paths of Humanity" (where some groove parts can be heard). It's just a matter of evolving and maturing their musical ideas in a better form.
For now, INTOLERANCE is a good promising name, and for Death Metal addicted fans, surely "Dark Paths of Humanity" will have an appeal.
