With no webpage, no information on the Facebook page, and no entry from either Bandcamp or Encyclopaedia Metallum, I have no idea who this band is made up of, or when they formed. With only 313 Facebook likes, I think it's safe to say they are relatively unknown. So, let's get to the music. "The Encounter" contains ten tracks.

"Extragalactic Radio" leads off the album. It opens with spoken word from what sounds like between two astronauts. Then, comes the scream and heavy instrumentation. An extended guitar solo provides some depth to the song. The bass guitar dances over top in a nifty pattern. "Signal to Noise" is a quick, under two-minute attack of heavy and angry music. The guitars attack in a Djenty fashion and then it's over. "Interlude I" is even shorter, with more of those sounds from outer space.

"Eigenlicht" opens with lead guitar notes over a heavy and rhythmic bed of instrumentation. The heavy rhythms are augmented by some light drumming and bass work. There are no vocals here on this track. "Hypnagogia" is closer to four-minutes in length, with a little more meat to it. Bass guitar and drums lead the charge here, with spoken word in the background. Some lead guitar notes mix in and then it's done. "Interlude II" is another shorter song, this time with doleful strings providing much of the sound. You feel as if you are all alone in space...trapped somewhere between two worlds.

"Rebiogenesis" is close to five minutes in length. It opens with angry harsh vocals and attacking instrumentation. The guitars make these dissonant sounds at times, outside of the heavy rhythms, experimenting a little. "Fuga Finalis" is a quick two-and-a-half-minute song that is relentless in its attack. The guitars go from free-flowing to heavy Djent at the flick of a switch and you never know where its headed. Towards the end, guitar and keys provide some odd, dissonant notes. It's quite trippy. "Asmodeus" opens with more of the dissonant guitar notes and heavy, aggressive riffing. While the drums and bass guitar roll, the guitars make a signal warning sound, like you hear in the movies. It's oddly pleasing.

"Epilogue" closes the album. It's two minutes of atmosphere building. I can't help feel that there is a concept here throughout the album. There was also a good deal of variation from track to track. Some were ambient while others were heavy and aggressive. I believe "The Encounter" refers to contact with alien life, and the songs take you on a journey through what that might sound like. It's just odd enough for a person like me to really enjoy.
